After 2 Yrs we are seeing Farmers Protest again. At its core, the farmer protest in India embodies a quest for economic justice and preservation of livelihoods. Triggered by the introduction of contentious agricultural laws in September 2020, the protests have evolved into a multifaceted dialogue encompassing issues of fair pricing, market deregulation, and the autonomy of farmers.
They have started protest since the last 10 days, They were marching for Jantar-Mantar Delhi but they got stuck in Haryana, Punjab border. 60 % of Indian population are living depending upon agriculture. But they are stuck in debt for many causes. They don’t get the right price for their crops and govt. aren’t fulfilling their promises. So they came to roads just before election as this is the best time to fulfill demand.

MSP :
Farmers are asking for a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 23 crops. Farmers are saying that MSP is very important for our survival so make it compulsory. And They are waiting from the last 2 yrs for this. Already there is an existing MSP for some crops but they are demanding for 23 crops and want an guarantee that no one can buy their crops below that price.
Loan Waiver :
Loan waiver is a very complicated issue. When it comes to repaying a loan, the public is in a state of panic. Farmers are asking for a loan wave of farmers and laborers. As in the last 10 yrs Govt. forgave 7 lakh crore corporate loans then why not Govt. can’t waived off some thousands loan of a poor farmer or poor labour. If a farmer can’t pay his tractor loan, he has to go to jail or sometimes they choose to die instead of this burden.
Swaminathan Commission Report Implementation :
Bharat Ratna awarded Swaminathan’s report for the farmer revolution is going to waste. Farmers are demanding for the implementation of this report. As they report says for – Extensive Land Reforms, Distributing Surplus And Waste Lands, Bar On Corporate To Acquire Agricultural Or Forest Lands, Giving Grazing Rights To People, Public Investment Into Irrigation, Drainage, Land Development, Water Conservation and Promotion Of Conservation Farming and Biodiversity.
And also farmers should get loan in a interest rate of 4% and if crops is not good or damaged then interest should be pardoned and a health insurance policy for farmer and their crops and livestock. And the MSP rate should increase at least 50% above the weighted average cost of production.
If govt. implement those things then our farmer can live a healthy life. It will also boost our over all economy. The rate of farmer sucide will definately decrease. And also It will be good for our nature as it also says about biodiversity and water conservation as well as drainage system.
Killing Of Democracy :
As they were marching towards Delhi for a non violent farmers protest for their demand. But Our govt. has blocked their way with large size of concrete wall and this is a clear indication that govt. don’t want any protest just before election. And they don’t even want to negotiate with farmers. And to block the farmers govt. has sent a lots of State Police and Raps. This is not a way to stop farmers protest, It is a violence of democratic rights.
- They implemented nail on the roads to block the tractors.
- Police has charged on more than a hundreds farmers.
- They are using rubber bullets towards the protester.
- They are using crying gas with drones.
- Blocked the twitter handle of farmer leaders.
- Threating to the family of farmer leaders.
Farmers Protest Is Going On Instead Of Such Things :
Govt. has tried all the things to block the farmers protest. But every action of govt. has failed to stop the the farmers. They are not shaken up by such things and they are stubborn about their demand. They are trying , many things to fight against those action.-
- They are using kites to take down the drones.
- They are using eye glass to protect their eyes from crying gas.
- They are using water gun to damage the crying gas as soon as it thrown.
- They are using wet jute bag to protect them.
