The 4th test of the India vs England series is going at Ranchi. India decided to rest Bumrah as he was playing a lots of matches so that they are managing his work load. Also Virat Kohli will miss the match as he opted out himself due to family commitments. This is very important match to both for India if they win they will win the series as they are leading the series with 2-1, for England’s point of view it is a match of fight back and levelling the series.

England was happy for missing Bumrah at the 22 yards. But debutant Akash Deep was on song. He is playing a dream debut match. English batsmen were unable to read him. But the veteran Joe Root stand tall for England as he smashed a century.

India vs England 4th Test Day 1 :

Day 1 of the 4th test is at 50-50 situation. Neither India nor England are at the driving seat, India got 7 wicket but England also scored 302 and they are not all down. So could add more runs on Day 2. 1st session of Day 1 was named India as they took 5 important wickets in that session. But England fought back later on. Highlights of the Day are –

Akash Deep Dream Debut :

In place of veteran Jasprit Bumrah he got a chance in the playing 11. Without Bumrah the Indian bowling line up was questionable. But Akash Deep declared the answer with his spell. in his 4th over he comes hard and knocked over Ben Duckett on the second ball of the over later on the 4th ball he hit the pad of Ollie Pope and in spite of a huge appeal umpire was unmoved. India decided to review and they got three reds in the review and Ollie Pop got out.

On the 5th ball of the over he was again able to hit the pad of Joe Root but umpire was unmoved so India takes another review but this time they were unsuccessful. Then he comes to ball again at and on the 5th ball of his 6th over he bowled Zak Crawley. Zak has no clue about the ball, it was unplayable for him. England reviewed the decision but they lost it.

Joe Root Smacked A Century In India vs England 4th Test:

Joe Root was going through a huge runs drought in this series and every time he fell so cheaply. But this time he stand tall and smashed a century where England needed most. It makes a record. He has now most numbers of century against India it was his 10th Century in 52 innings, Steven Smith has scored 9 century in 37 innings. He is also in the 2nd for most numbers of century against India across formats. He is now batting on 106 off 226. He has 9 boundaries in his innings. Although this is his 3rd slowest century.

His slowest century was scored against NZ at Hamilton in 2019, he took 259 balls to complete his century, Second slowest was against Australia at Lord’s in 2013, he took 247 balls to complete the century.
